Description
The 6-inch square areca leaf appetiser plate frames a single considered bite — two pieces of mithai on a festival counter, one tikki, a canapé at a cocktail evening. The square edge makes even one item look plated and deliberate, while the leaf’s own grain keeps it warm rather than clinical. Pressed from a single fallen areca palm leaf and water — no chemicals, no bleaching — it’s small but firm under something saucy, and composts in your garden in about 60 days. The organic way to serve the first taste.
Good to know
Are areca leaf plates microwave-safe? Do they leak?
Yes — areca palm leaf plates are microwave-safe for short heating (about two minutes) and freezer-safe. Each is a single pressed leaf with no coating, so they hold curries, sambar and gravies without leaking or going soggy.
Do they compost at home or need an industrial facility?
At home. With no coating or lining — just leaf and water — they break down in a home compost or garden bed in roughly 60 days. No industrial composter required.
What makes them organic rather than just biodegradable?
Our areca is grown organically through a seven-year farmer-and-soil transition — palm leaf alone is not organic. It is INDOCERT-certified (EU-equivalent, valid to 2029): genuinely organic, not merely a plate that breaks down.
Are Just a Leaf areca leaf plates chemical-free and food-safe?
Yes. Every plate is pressed from a single fallen areca palm leaf and water — nothing else. There is no pulping, bleaching, dye or plastic lining, so nothing leaches into hot, oily or gravy-based food.
